It began in 1991, and will officially conclude its life as a television show seen on E! Entertainment Television on September 25. E! News has been cancelled by the network that will soon be housed under the Versant spin-off company featuring various NBCUniversal cable network brands.
However, E! News will continue as a digital brand as the nightly entertainment-news magazine is sunset, The Hollywood Reporter shared on Thursday.
Employees within E! learned of the change for the venerable brand this morning, THR said. New episodes of E! News are scheduled for next week.
The Access Hollywood and Access Daily programs are not impacted by this change, THR added.
