‘Terminated’: An Abrupt Leadership Shakeup at Entravision

The company that has swiftly morphed into a digital advertising solutions operation with a global scale has parted ways with its President/COO after more than two decades with the Spanish-language radio and TV station owner. It ends one of the longest leadership tenures in U.S. Hispanic radio.

Entravision Communications has parted ways with Jeffery Liberman after more than two decades with the Spanish-language broadcasters, ending one of the longest leadership tenures in US Hispanic radio.

An Entravision spokesperson confirmed the news to Streamline Publishing’s Radio Ink late Friday. In an SEC filing, the company disclosed that it “terminated the employment” of Liberman on Thursday (2/19). Liberman will be entitled to certain remuneration, rights and benefits associated with a termination of a “Group II executive” without “cause” and is not entitled to any severance payments beyond what is set forth in the company’s Executive Severance and Change in Control Plan.

Liberman began his career in Spanish-language broadcasting in 1974, joining Entravision in 2000 when the company acquired Latin Communications Group, where he had managed 17 radio stations across California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Washington, DC. He rose through the company’s ranks, leading the radio division from 2001 to 2012 before taking the COO post and ultimately ascending to President and COO in 2017.

Liberman’s exit closes a chapter that spanned Entravision’s growth from a regional broadcast group into a diversified media and technology company operating 49 television stations, 46 Spanish-language radio stations, and digital advertising platforms across 40 countries.

Meanwhile, the SEC filing confirmed that Mark Boelke will succeed Liberman in the COO role, adding those duties to his Chief Financial Officer position at Entravision.

Boelke has been CFO of Entravision since May 2024 and prior to that spent 18 years as GC and Secretary.
