A Southwest Fla. AM Surrenders Its License

As the end of 1983 neared, a new AM radio station made its debut in Southwest Florida. Four years later, Beasley Broadcast Group acquired the facility, and held on to the Class B 10kw daytime and 630 watt nighttime signal until agreeing to sell all of its Fort Myers-Naples market stations to a pair of local operators.


Now, that deal is complete, and the new owners would rather not keep the home of ESPN Southwest Florida in operation.
