A South Jersey FM Translator Trades Hands

It holds a construction permit for a 120-watt FM translator with a highly directional signal pattern covering such southern New Jersey communities as Woodstown and Glassboro, due south of Philadelphia.

The CP represents a shift of sorts north toward the more populous suburbs of this metropolis, and that is perhaps what makes it attractive enough for the licensee to agree to sell it.

The Edwin Andrade-led The Voice Radio Newark has agreed to purchase FM translator W298DI at 107.5 MHz from Quilvio Perdomo and his Perdomo Media Group Corp.

How much is Perdomo pocketing from the sale? A $238,000 price has been agreed upon for the facility presently licensed to Port Norris, N.J.

Terms call for a $43,000 cash deposit, which was paid with the execution of the agreement. A $140,000 cash payment is to be made at closing, with a Promissory Note for $55,000 secured by the buyer.

With the sale, one component of “Mega” — based at WWAC-AM in Atlantic City, N.J. — will disappear.

But, the signal may still continue to serve Spanish-language audiences in South Jersey, as The Voice Radio Network of Georgetown, Del., offers three distinct Hispanic audio brands across the Delaware Bay from the Garden State.
