LOS ANGELES — It boasted an airstaff that included Wink Martindale, Geoff Edwards, Gary Owens, Robert W. Morgan and Rollye James, among many, many others.
The station’s transmitter building on Burbank Blvd. east of Coldwater Canyon in North Hollywood is legendary for its structure alone.
And, it was a longtime sibling to KTLA-5, the first station to broadcast the famed New Year’s Day Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif.
That station was KMPC and, today, the flagship home of ESPN Radio for Southern California — KSPN-AM 710. And, it’s about to get a downgrade of sorts.
