An FM radio station presently off the air under Special Temporary Authority with a construction permit for a mountaintop 1.5kw facility south of Provo, Utah, has officially returned to the air.
The resumption of operations notice comes alongside a Notification of Consummation shared on Tuesday by the FCC, official word of a deal that was completed more than four months ago.
KPUT-FM 92.9 in Mona, Utah, has officially become the property of North Point Broadcasting, as Alex Media Inc. has completed its sale of the station. In fact, the consummation date was April 7. However, with a resumption of service to the full-power FM, this triggered an official notice from the Commission.
RBR+TVBR initially reported on August 12 that the transaction had just been filed for FCC approval. However, a technical error following a two-day shutdown of the FCC’s LMS presented the deal as newly filed.
A $150,000 purchase price was been agreed upon by the parties in an asset purchase agreement dated January 14, 2025, with a $5,000 escrow payment made and held by Kozacko Media Services ahead of a second $10,000 deposit to be held by Kozacko. This is a revised and restated agreement replacing one filed on November 27, 2023.
Broker George Kimble of Kozacko Media Services retained a $10,000 fee for his work in handling the transaction.
Alex Media is an entity tied to Alexander Berger, who resides on the Upper East Side of New York; Treasurer Evan Carb signed off on the transaction.
