Ken Kuenzie and Dennis Klautzer have made headlines in recent years for their radio broadcasting investments. They include five audio brands serving the Lake of the Ozarks resort region of Missouri, and their December 2017 decision to join Larry Fuss as an investor in a Kaua’i FM serving the Hawaiian island.
Now, their company is set to bring the first over-the-air TV station to a community that’s perhaps best-known for the not-so-flattering drama Ozark on Netflix.
Osage Beach, Mo.-based Viper Communications has received a construction permit from the FCC that will allow it to build a TV station on Channel 32. It will include three digital multicast networks.
The forthcoming TV station will join Viper’s four radio stations in the region: News/Talk KRMS-AM and FM translators K248BP and K277DJ, KMYK “93.5 ROCKS,” K254BE “98.7 The Cove,” and K285ER “Classic Country 104.9.’
“We are extremely excited about bringing the first over the air broadcast TV station to the lake,” Klautzer and Kuenzie said in a statement. “Barring any construction problems we
hope to have it on the air before the end of the year.”
Local news and programs will be produced by KRMS.
The NEXTGEN TV broadcast standard will be employed at a forthcoming date, bringing 4K quality picture and sound to viewers.
