A ‘New Beginning’ For An Indiana Noncomm Group

In a Form 314 filing with the FCC that includes no written agreement, six FM translators, a silent AM, a silent FM, and an operational Class B noncomm just east of Indianapolis are heading to a new nonprofit group.

This change involves an organization that has agreed to sell two other translators, with one of them going to Urban One.

The Indiana Community Radio Corp. has been the licensee of 28kw WJCF-FM 88.1 in Morristown, Ind.; silent 250-watt daytime/1 watt nighttime WRFM-AM 990 in Muncie, Ind.; and silent 700-watt WCNB-FM 91.5 in Dayton, Ind. — in addition to translators W219DO in Edinburgh, W268BJ in Muncie, W275BD in Greenfield, W278BB and W282AZ in Greensburg, and W249DG in North Vernon.

They are now being assigned to New Beginnings Movement, which sees Martin Hensley remain President and shifting from the former licensee to the new licensee as a 25% equity holder. He is joined by Asa Hensley, Royce McPherson and Jennifer Greene.

No consideration is involved.

Hensley plans no programming changes; the stations (except for W249DG, W275BD and W282AZ) have aired Christian Contemporary music (CCM) in addition to select ministry programming. W282AZ rebroadcasts WTRE-AM 1330 in Greensburg, Ind., owned by WTRE Inc.

Indiana Community Radio Corp. has already agreed to sell two other FM translators.  W275BD, which rebroadcasts Radio One-owned WNOW-FM 100.9 in Speedway, Ind., is being sold to Urban One. The final approval agreement will see Radio One acquire the station from New Beginnings Movement.

W249DG rebroadcasts WJCP-AM 1460 in Mount Vernon, Ind., and is being sold to that station’s owners, Tom and Diana Taylor.
