A 21st Century Broadcaster Wins A Wyoming FM

The CEO of a radio broadcasting company based in the Houston-Galveston market has just been gifted a Class C3 FM facility that can be heard in three states.


The value of this donation has been left up to a third-party appraiser.The station that is being donated is KEZF-FM 95.9, licensed to Pine Bluffs, Wyo.

KEZF serves an area to the east of Cheyenne and northeast of the Fort Collins-Greeley, Colo., market, and reaches the Pawnee National Grassland of Colorado; La Grange, Wyo.; and communities in Nebraska including Kimball and Bushnell.

The donor is United States CP and the recipient is Dr. Michael Augustus Cultural and Musical Arts Foundation.

This is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in La Marque, Tex., located between Houston and Galveston.

Assets include the station license, coax cable, an Andrew 7/8″ transmission line, and a Nicom 77 four-bay FM antenna. The transmitter, receiver, and studio assets are not being conveyed.

The maximum estimated value of KEZF is $100,000.

The Foundation began running the station on Jan. 8.

There is no broker associated with this donation. The donor is led by Manager Todd Robinson and will continue to own five full-power and four FM translator stations in Colorado.

Dr. Augustus is on the board of directors for 21st Century Broadcasting; he holds no attributable interest in the company’s lone asset, Class C WEZO-AM 1230 in Augusta, Ga.

WEZO airs a variety of musical programming serving the city’s African American population, including gospel, zydeco, soul, jazz and blues.
