North of Jackson, in the town of Canton, is a Class D AM at 1370 kHz. Pending FCC approval, it will soon be under new ownership.

It’s a transaction that underscores the continued need for AM radio access in vehicles across the U.S., particularly in small-town America.

WMGO-AM in Canton, Miss., is being sold by WMGO Broadcasting Corp., represented by Lindy Lousteau, to Canton Radio LLC.

The buyer is a 50/50 partnership between Ed Hutchison and John Wallace.

A $20,000 purchase price has been agreed to by the parties, with a 10% downpayment made to the seller.
