A Forthcoming L.A. AM’s Valley FM Translator Push Thwarted Again

CULVER CITY, CALIF. — On February 5, the FCC granted its approval for the creation of a brand-new radio station. It will use an AM radio frequency that’s been dormant for nearly 40 years.

The licensee planned to launch the facility with an FM translator. But, that plan looks like it won’t happen as envisioned, as the FCC’s Audio Division Chief has denied a Petition for Reconsideration filed by the partnership behind the forthcoming addition to the Los Angeles radio market.

It’s a win for Estrella Media.
