Update: A Divine Radio Deal

0

The first week in June is upon us, and in just under four weeks the first half of 2018 will have concluded. How’s the deal-making marketplace shaping up? Activity is still relatively quiet, and we officially usher in the new month by devoting TRANSACTIONS TODAY to a  noncommercial FM offering faith-based programming.

This station touches on the fringes of Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Mich.

Editor’s Note: This article originally published June 4 contained information regarding the sale by The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago of a Class D AM daytimer with an FM translator serving Nashville. The facility is WFCM-AM 710. RBR+TVBR incorrectly reported that another station in the market was being sold. We regret the error.

A HOLY MOVE IN MICHIANA

There’s a region of the Midwest that incorporates the southern border of Michigan and the northern border of Indiana that is, appropriately, called Michiana.

Here, a Class B1 with 20kw and a signal that scrapes the cities of Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Mich., and the Indiana towns of Bristol and Howe, is being assigned to a new licensee.

The station is WVAV-FM 91.5 in Vicksburg, Mich.,a member of the Holy Family Radio family on noncomms serving Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids.

Holy Family Radio programming has been airing on WVAV, and now it will own the station outright — thanks to a donation from current licensee Vineyard Academy.

HFR is led by President and Director David Bevins.
