DALLAS — An advertising-fueled sports-focused streaming service that was to serve as the home of the NHL’s Dallas Stars as well as a selection of Texas high school football games has suddenly ceased operations.
North Texas isn’t the only region of the U.S. impacted by the demise of Victory+.
While the Stars were likely the biggest pro sports draw for the platform, it also has the rights to League One Volleyball in the U.S. and Canada; and the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream and Minnesota Lynx.
The Minnesota Star-Tribune reports that the Lynx had two games remaining on its streaming schedule.
According to the Dallas Morning News, an e-mail was sent to the Prosper, Frisco, Southlake Carroll and Melissa Independent School Districts notifying them that Victory+ was dissolved by its parent company, and that the Texas High School Coaching Association Game of the Week would no longer be broadcast on the service.
That news came 24 hours after the newspaper confirmed that the Stars had toyed with a shift to Amazon Prime Video for the 2026-2027 season, following the lead of MLB’s Texas Rangers. In mid-July, the Rangers Sports Network announced that it would shift its games to the BZZR app.
Dallas-based Victory+ was launched in 2024 ahead of the NHL season as a free ad-supported streaming television service. The Stars were also part-owners of the service.
