NAB’s New Station Self-Inspection Guides Are Here

WASHINGTON, D.C. —  Updated guides providing broadcasters with practical guidance for conducting self-inspections of their stations have been released for AM, FM and both UHF and VHF television stations by the NAB.

A co-production of the NAB and the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), the publication offers up-to-date, standardized guidance toward compliance with FCC rules and policies.

The guides are also intended to be used by contract inspectors who are part of the Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program, which are administered by most state broadcaster associations. Until 2003, the FCC published self-inspection checklists, but it has not updated them despite significant changes to its rules and policies.

The guides are a free member benefit to NAB and SBE members. They are available for download from the NAB member portal and from SBE.
