Chavez Media is seeking a revenue-focused Director of Digital Sales to build and scale the sales engine for its start-up digital marketing agency. As part of the Chavez Media portfolio, the agency will help clients grow through integrated digital marketing programs that can be amplified by Chavez Media’s radio assets, content creation capabilities, live events, community relationships, and cross-platform advertising reach, positioning the agency to become a multi-million-dollar business.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a builder and closer who can sell digital solutions, create repeatable sales systems, generate new business, and shape the agency’s go-to-market strategy from the ground up. The Director of Digital Sales will begin with two direct reports and will be responsible for building the personnel infrastructure needed to support long-term growth. This role will partner closely with Chavez Media leadership, radio sales, content, events, creative, account management, and delivery teams to convert prospects into long-term, high-value clients.
The ideal candidate is a proven digital sales leader with experience in agency, media, or integrated advertising environments. They will have the ability to develop and implement digital marketing services, connect client business goals to measurable campaign strategies, and create solutions that combine digital, broadcast, content, and experiential opportunities.
Core Revenue Generation Responsibilities
Digital Revenue Strategy, Pipeline Development
• Develop and execute the agency’s digital sales strategy to grow revenue across paid media, SEO, social advertising, content marketing, email marketing, lead generation, analytics, and integrated digital solutions.
• Own new business revenue targets and build a predictable pipeline of qualified prospects for digital marketing services and integrated media solutions.
• Identify target industries, buyer personas, decision makers, and priority accounts where Chavez Media’s combined digital, radio, content, and event assets create a competitive advantage.
• Build pricing, packaging, proposal, and sales enablement frameworks that support scalable growth and profitable service delivery.
• Contribute to client retention by setting clear expectations during the sales process and aligning solutions to measurable outcomes.
• Track sales KPIs, including pipeline value, conversion rate, close rate, average deal size, sales cycle length, client acquisition cost, retention, upsell revenue, and cross-platform revenue contribution.
Agency Growth Systems & Start-up Scaling
• Build foundational sales processes, CRM workflows, lead scoring, follow-up cadences, proposal templates, sales scripts, integrated media packages, and reporting dashboards.
• Recommend tools and systems that improve prospecting, automation, reporting, sales productivity, client onboarding, and cross-team visibility.
• Collaborate with leadership on service packages, pricing models, commission structures, revenue forecasts, and margin expectations.
• Identify partnership opportunities with technology platforms, consultants, local businesses, community organizations, media partners, and complementary service providers.
• Help define the agency’s market positioning, competitive differentiation, sales messaging, and relationship to the broader Chavez Media brand.
Chavez Media Integration & Cross-Platform Synergy
• Position the digital marketing agency as a growth partner within the broader Chavez Media ecosystem, creating solutions that connect digital strategy with radio, branded content, social media, video, events, sponsorships, and community engagement.
• Partner with Chavez Media radio sales teams to identify digital upsell opportunities within existing advertiser relationships and to introduce radio clients to expanded digital marketing programs.
• Collaborate with radio programming, promotions, content creation, and events teams to build integrated campaign ideas that increase client value and deepen advertiser relationships.
• Develop bundled and custom offerings that may include paid media, SEO, social advertising, email marketing, lead generation, branded content, on-air promotion, podcast/audio opportunities, video content, influencer-style creator activations, and event sponsorships.
• Use Chavez Media’s audience relationships, local market credibility, advertiser base, and community presence to accelerate agency growth and differentiate the agency from stand-alone digital vendors.
• Create internal referral, co-selling, and revenue-sharing processes that encourage collaboration between the digital agency, radio sales, content teams, and event teams.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Act as the agency’s senior sales leader and establish a culture of accountability, urgency, and consultative selling, collaboration, and revenue ownership.
• Collaborate with marketing and content teams to create lead-generation campaigns, sales collateral, case studies, webinars, landing pages, thought leadership content, video assets, and event-based sales opportunities.
• As the agency grows, recruit, train, manage, and mentor sales development representatives, partnership managers, and digital sales professionals.
• Represent the agency and Chavez Media in the market through networking, speaking engagements, client meetings, industry and community events, and strategic relationship building.
Required Qualifications
• 7-10+ years of experience in digital sales, agency sales, business development, media sales, integrated advertising sales, SaaS sales, or digital marketing services sales.
• Proven track record of generating new business revenue and closing digital marketing, advertising, media, sponsorship, or technology-related deals.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including paid search, paid social, SEO, email marketing, marketing automation, analytics, lead generation, and conversion optimization.
• Experience selling integrated solutions that may include digital media, broadcast, branded content, events, sponsorships, or cross-platform advertising.
• Experience selling to founders, executives, marketing leaders, sales leaders, business owners, and local or regional advertisers.
• Ability to lead discovery, create proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals independently.
• Experience using CRM platforms and sales tools to manage pipeline, forecasting, follow-up, and performance reporting.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable operating in an early-stage environment with limited structure, evolving priorities, and high expectations for execution.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience selling for a start-up digital marketing agency, performance marketing agency, creative agency, media company, radio group, event marketing company, or MarTech provider.
• Existing network of business owners, marketing executives, start-up founders, local advertisers, media buyers, or channel partners.
• Experience building a sales function, playbook, CRM process, or revenue team from the ground up.
• Familiarity with tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, SEMrush, and marketing automation platforms.
• Experience developing strategic partnerships, referral channels, white-label relationships, reseller opportunities, sponsorship packages, or integrated media campaigns.
• Understanding of retainer pricing, project pricing, performance-based pricing, sponsorship pricing, media packaging, and agency profitability.
