All eyes are on Sacramento, and the Attorney General of the State of California. And it is not because of the Ninth Circuit’s review of an appeal from Nexstar Media Group and TEGNA against a preliminary injunction preventing the two companies from fully combining their assets — something AG Rob Bonta fought for.
Rather, Bonta wants something similar to happen to another major merger that gained Justice Department approval late last week. Questions abound as to whether he has the legal ability to accomplish that goal.
