Broadcast Electronics (BE), the Quincy, Ill.-headquartered designer and manufacturer of broadcast products, has named a new Chief Technology Officer.
The appointment, says BE, reinforces the company’s “commitment to innovation, customer focus, and long-term growth” and comes after BE’s recent acquisition by a U.S.-based investor group.
David Sparano is now responsible for the company’s technology strategy, product development, and innovation initiatives.
Sparano’s resume includes past roles at Harris Corp., GatesAir, Comark and Thomson. He led the development of multiple generations of products ranging from compact low-power air-cooled to high-power liquid-cooled breakthrough transmitters for FM, DAB and digital television.
“From building scalable platforms to leading world-class engineering teams, Dave has spent a career turning ambitious ideas into impactful technology via reliable, customer-focused products. As we continue reinventing Broadcast Electronics through greatly expanded capabilities, his leadership will play a key role in shaping our aggressive new product development strategy.” said company President/CEO Rich Redmond. “The cornerstone of our customer first growth strategy is a talented team dedicated to customer focused innovation and new products that will deliver breakthrough capabilities to our worldwide radio broadcast customer base. We are extremely pleased to welcome Dave to this important new executive leadership role.”
“I am delighted by the opportunity to join the reinvigorated new Broadcast Electronics,” Sparano said. “BE now offers an exciting environment to develop innovative new products focused solely on customer needs – to deliver more compact, more energy-efficient, more serviceable, and lower cost products that deliver next generation solutions that enable profitable content delivery for our global radio broadcast customers.”
