The organization that oversees the operations of NPR Member WNYC Radio, Classical WQXR and the Gothamist general interest news and entertainment news website has added three women to executive-level roles, each of whom will report to Christy Tanner.
Taking the Chief People Officer role at New York Public Radio is Ruchika Sharma, as Emily Christner becomes Chief Growth and Engagement Officer and Patti Cohen is named Sr. VP of Analytics, Insights and Research.
“Ru, Emily, and Patti will be essential partners to the New York Public Radio team as we work together to expand our position as an iconic center of excellence, operating in public service to our city, with global impact,” said Tanner, who serves as NYPR’s President/CEO.

Sharma has more than two decades of experience building HR teams across big tech, media, financial services, and consumer goods organizations, including Amazon Web Services (from October 2019-October 2021), GroupM (from June 2017-October 2019) and Bloomberg L.P. (from September 2013-June 2017).
Christner’s resume includes past roles as VP/GM of TV Guide, TV.com and Metacritic under CBS Interactive; and for TV Guide Digital under Lionsgate. She also spent five years with the National Hockey League’s Boston Bruins, in ad sales, promotions, community relations and online marketing. Cohen most recently held the role of Sr. VP of Research for CBS Television Stations and CBS Media Ventures. At NYPR, she will design and lead a new Analytics, Insights & Research (AIR) function.
