It’s an FM serving the city of Topeka and the college town of Lawrence with Hip-Hop and classic R&B programming as “96.9 The Beat.”

Pending FCC approval, it will become a sibling of Kanzaland Radio.

KQRB-FM in Effingham, Kansas, once a Cumulus Media station known as KDVB-FM, was sold in September 2021 to Intrepid Companies for $300,000.

Days later, the station fell silent and returned in July 2022 with its current format.

Now, KQRB is poised to become the property of KNZA Inc., in a deal valued at $670,000.

A $35,000 deposit is being held by Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage Inc., representing Intrepid as its broker of record in this transaction.

Serving as KNZA’s legal counsel is David Oxenford of Wilkinson Barker Knauer. The legal counsel for the seller is John C. Trent of Putbrese, Hunsacker & Trent.
