On January 19, 2021, the Commission released a Report and Order in its proceeding to address technical issues that may impede the adoption of distributed transmission system (DTS) by a broadcast television station.
The R&O created new DTS rules for Class A television and low power television (LPTV) stations. On April 7, 2023, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved the form changes associated with the DTS rule changes for Class A television and LPTV stations.
With the release on Tuesday (4/18) of a Public Notice, the Media Bureau confirmed that summary of the R&O, including notice of the effective date for the rule changes applicable to Class A television and LPTV stations, was published in the Federal Register on April 18, 2023.
