CAMARILLO, CALIF. — Thanks to its grandfathered status, a Cumulus Media FM serving the Central Coast of California enjoys 105,000 watts of power, with a Class B signal stretching from Thousand Oaks to the south to San Luis Obispo to the north.

Today, that facility is Classic Hits KRUZ-FM, and this station, along with its three siblings focused on Ventura County, now have a new Operations Manager.

Rising to the role for Cumulus’ Oxnard-Ventura, Calif., station group is Dave Daniels.

This puts him in the OM chair for not only KRUZ but Country KHAY-FM, Hot Adult Contemporary KBBY-FM and Rhythmic Top 40 KVYB “106.3 The Vibe.”

He’ll retain his duties as the morning host for KHAY, where he has been heard since 2016.

Daniels has over 30 years’ experience on-air and in programming and was previously Operations Manager for KSNI-FM in Santa Maria, Calif., to the north via U.S. 101, and Operations Manager for KJUG-FM in Hanford-Tulare-Visalia, Calif.. A three-time NAB Marconi Award nominee, Daniels won an ACM Award for Personality, Small Market while at KHAY-FM, in 2018.

Daniels reports to VP/Market Manager Sommer Frisk, who said, “This is a well-earned promotion for Dave Daniels. Dave’s natural ability to lead is underscored by his ability to successfully navigate the programming team under the most challenging of times. He’s a pro and is most deserving of this promotion.”

Daniels commented, “I couldn’t be happier to lead the programming team in Oxnard/Ventura, working alongside our Sales Manager and sales team. My thanks to Sommer for her confidence in me. I look forward this opportunity.”
