Automotive Dollars Finally Rev Up At TV

It’s been weeks since the Media Monitors Spot Ten TV reports featured more than one auto dealer association-funded campaign.

For the week ending November 22, two dealer associations pumped up their pre-holiday ad activity.

As shown below, Toyota and Hyundai each committed to a bigger ad outreach through the use of over-the-air television.

Toyota’s new effort involves some 18,940 spots detected by Media Monitors. For Hyundai, the detected total is 17,291.

With the end-of-year sales now in the midst of a Q4 crunch, look for additional auto dollars to arrive at broadcast TV in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, retailers Macy’s, Target and Walmart are all within the top four — and GEICO remains the No. 1 by play count.
