With DTV coming and analog going in just a matter of days, 2.5% of all US TV households still aren’t ready, according to Nielsen. The number stood at 5.8M on February 1, so progress has been made, but there is still a ways to go. Nielsen’s latest reading was based on results gathered 6/7/09. It did note significant gains in all categories compared to the prior 5/24/09 temperature taking.
The overall 2.5% percentage of unprepared houses improved from 2.7% on the prior survey. All categories also improved. The White total fell from 2.1% to 1.9%; African Americans fell from 5.4% to 5.1%; Hispanics fell from 4.7% to 4.3%; Asians fell from 3.2% to 3.1%; those aged 35 or less fell from 5.0% to 4.6%; and those aged 55 or more fell from 1.5% to 1.3%.
Here is a look at individual DMAs, with both total unprepared households and their percentage of total DMA households included.
