Wall Street Ends Short Week With Strong Gain

U.S. financial markets finished a short trading week, owing to the Memorial Day holiday, on an up-note, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average moved ahead 52.56 points, to 21,196.74. The NasBdaq Composite index was up 58.97, to 6,305.80.


Media stocks were led by Tribune Media, which saw a 26-cent improvement, to $38.67. Sinclair Broadcast Group was up by 20 cents, to $33.80. Nexstar Media Group also enjoyed a nice gain, climbing 65 cents, to $58.70, to continue a much-needed rebound for the broadcast TV company.

Among publicly traded radio companies, Emmis Communications increased 13 cents, to $3.40, for a 4% gain.

Beasley Media Group also had a strong performance on Friday, rising 85 cents to $10.20 for a 9.1% improvement.
