Stocks close up, S&P 500 at record

Stocks finished Tuesday with solid gains, sending the S&P 500 to a record close for the second straight session. Small-cap and technology stocks lead the broad-based gains. Better-than-expected economic data, including durable-goods orders and home prices, boosted sentiment. The S&P closed 11.39 points, or 0.6%, higher at 1,911.92. The Dow gained 69.23 points, or 0.4%, to 16,675.50. The Nasdaq ended the day up 51.26 points, or 1.2%, at 4,237.07, its highest level in nearly 8 weeks.


The RBR Radio Index was up 25.407, or 2.8%, to 920.129.

The TVBR Television Index was up 1.788, or .2%, to 846.111.
