Committee set to review Telecom policy

U.S. CongressHouse Subcommittee on Communications and Technology Chair Greg Walden and Commerce Committee Chair Fred Upton have proposed a review and update of the Communications Act of 1934, which will, of course, dovetail with the 1996 Telecom Act. Rep. Walden is calling on all five members of the FCC to attend an oversight hearing 12/12. He wants to talk about process reform, fairness across different media in today’s converged world and may look at changing some of the FCC’s powers and oversight.


FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai issued a statement on revising the Communications Act to meet with modern realities:
