Yañez Rises As Univision Sets Leaders At Former Entravision Operations

On December 1, leadership changes at stations in Orlando, Tampa, and Washington, D.C., Univision Communications is gaining control of from Entravision will transpire.


At the same time, Univision is giving a promotion to local leader Roberto Yañez.

With Univision President of Local Media Diane Kniowski making the announcement, Regional News Director of Raleigh, Atlanta and Philadelphia Gianncarlo Cifuentes has been promoted to VP/Regional News Director for Tampa and Orlando.

Concurrently Univision/Miami National Sales Manager Jose Figueroa has been named VP/Director of Sales in Orlando; while Veronika Moroian rises from Univision/New York VP of Business Strategy to President and General Manager of Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. and New York Station Manager, where she will lead business strategy for all three markets.

“These promotions reflect our commitment to hire top talent from within and further affirm our commitment to the community in producing, providing, and showcasing local news that matters,” Kniowski said.

Concurrently, Univision/New York President/GM Yañez has been promoted to President and Regional Manager for the newly created Northeast Corridor, comprised of New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Cleveland.

“Through this strategic change to our local media structure, I’m confident that Gianncarlo, Jose, Veronika and Roberto, along with our tremendous local teams in Orlando, Tampa and Washington, D.C., will usher in an exciting new chapter for Univision,” Kniowski said.
