WVAS-HD2 gets translator in Montgomery

Broadcast TowerAlabama State University’s student-run station, Urban WVAS-HD2 “Bama State Radio” may now be heard without an HD Radio, according to a news release from the university on Tuesday.


WVAS is now available on 25-watt W243CS at 96.5 through an agreement with J&W LLC. The deal allows the station’s digital signal to be delivered via FM translator the owners and operators of Wetumpka, AL radio stations Kool Klassic Hits (95.5 FM) and Gospel WAPZ (1250 AM).

Bama State Radio plays jazz, blues, hip-hop, r&b and neo-soul music from local, regional and established talent.
