Metro Radio in the Washington, DC market has begun their long-anticipated simulcast on 102.9 FM in Fairfax County, VA for its 730 AM Talker WTNT. Metro purchased the new Translator, W275BO, Chantilly, VA from Liberty University for $200,000. This is the highest price ever paid for a translator in the Washington area. It’s 13 watts @ 396 feet and will help bring in more listeners at night, when WTNT powers down from 8,000 watts to 25 watts.

WTNT 730 AM will simulcast 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Shows include 6 AM to 9 AM America’s Morning News, 9 AM to 12N Laura Ingraham Show, 12N to 3 PM Ray Lucia Show, 3 PM to 6 PM Andy Parks Show and 6 PM to 9 PM Michael Savage Show.

RBR-TVBR observation: The signal has some decent coverage in Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun Counties in Northern VA. Its main obstacle, however, is Country WKIK-FM to the east in California/Lexington Park, MD.
