The market is Jackson MS, and the five station radio group of Alpha Media is about to get a low power little sister. But the little sister will have to do some moving to join the local clan. Broker: Sandi Bergman, MyMediaBroker.com (seller)
That’s because it’s currently licensed to Tallulah LA, out of range of Jackson.
Alpha is buying K278CF from SSR Communications Inc. Matthew Wesolowski signed off on the transaction.
Alpha is headed by Larry Wilson.
The price is $200,000 cash.
Alpha stations in the market include WJMI-FM, WRKS-FM, WKXI-FM, WOAD-AM & WJNT-AM. According to the transfer application, the translator will be associated with WOAD.
The translator has a CP to move to Jackson MS with new calls K278BW. It will do a fine job of covering Jackson, well within the contour of WOAD-AM.
The station will operate on 103.5 MHz. The Tallulah version has 99 Watts and located near Vicksburg, well to the west of Jackson. The Jackson version of the station will have 250 Watts.
