Withers Divests More to EMF

SoldDana Withers has applied to sell another Iowa FM to Educational Media Foundation.

Earlier in the week we reported KRNQ in Keokuk, Iowa is on the block.

So too, is KOKX(FM) in Keokuk.

The price is $500,000 in cash or wire transfer at closing, less a $25,000 deposit that was to be placed in escrow.

EMF proposes to operate the station as a volunteer-staffed non-commercial educational station. The company has also asked the commission to okay its request to move the KOKX main studio to Middleton, Calif. so it can co-locate with EMF’s KLVR for cost-saving purposes. That would be some 1,644 miles outside of the KOKX 3.16 mV/m contour. The broadcaster would have a company representative in Keokuk who would be liaison between the station and the community.

KOKX is a Class C1 FM with an ERP of 100,000 watts @ 804’ HAAT, operating on 95.3 MHz.
