According to a court complaint, a 66-year-old man in a rural area near Madison, WI became enraged over ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and shot his TV. He then held police at bay for 15 hours before being arrested.

According to the story in the Madison State Journal, Steven Cowan became upset Monday evening when Bristol Palin, daughter of 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, came on to do her dance routine. He allegedly began railing about politics, left the room and came back with a shotgun. After firing into the TV set he allegedly pointed the gun at his wife, who fled and called police.

With his house surrounded, Cowan held police at bay for 15 hours before surrendering without incident on Tuesday morning.

Palin continued as a contestant following the results show on Tuesday evening and will dance again next week.

Cowan was presumably watching WKOW-TV (ABC) Madison. Click here to watch the station’s video report.
