As first reported by RBR+TVBR earlier this month, a bankruptcy auction of the radio stations formerly owned by Ed Stolz and his Royce International Broadcasting has been scheduled by a Nevada federal bankruptcy court on October 26.
At the request of trustee Michael Carmel, the FCC counsel to the bankruptcy court-appointed Chapter 11 holder of the stations’ licenses is sending information to a variety of media brokers to attract interest and attention to the bidding opportunity.
More than 40 brokerage firms, including some of the largest in the U.S., were contacted.
Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly noted that just nine brokerage firms were reached. This was based on incomplete information, and RBR+TVBR regrets the error.
