Time-Shifting Added an Average Of 3 Million Viewers to TV’s #1 Network Last Season. In addition to its record-breaking seventh consecutive season win among Adults 18-49, Nielsen Live + 7 Day data now confirms that FOX gained more audience from time-shifted viewing than any other television network this season.


With regular programming, FOX added an average of 3 million viewers from DVR viewing within the first seven days of the live telecast, with originals – more than CBS (2.9m) and ABC (2.0m), and nearly twice as much as NBC gained on average (1.6m).  Key season DVR highlights include:

FOX ranked #2 last week among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.  Key highlights from last week include:

On Monday, the premiere of MASTERCHEF posted a 1.8/6 among Adults 18-49 and ranked #1 in its hour among Men 18-49/18-34/25-54. 
MASTERCHEF showed 95% retention of its finale last summer from 8-9pm (1.8 vs. 1.9 on 9/15/10) among Adults 18-49.
The premiere showed meaningful growth in its hour, gaining +12% in its second half hour over its first in Adults 18-49 (1.9 vs. 1.7).

The following night, the Tuesday time period premiere of MASTERCHEF delivered 1.9/6 among Adults 18-49, up +6% vs. its Monday premiere, and grew +17% in its second half hour over its first in Adults 18-49, +13% in Adults 18-34 and +12% in Total Viewers

Wednesday and Thursday featured strong two-hour installments of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
On Wednesday, the two-hour ‘Vegas Callbacks’ episode of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE posted a 2.8/9 among Adults 18-49 and was the highest rated program of the night among Women 18-34,  outperforming America’s Got Talent by +14%.
Thursday’s 2-hr “Green Mile/Meet The Top 20” episode of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE delivered a 2.5/8 among Adults 18-49 and was up +4% among Total Viewers from the same night last year (7.1 vs. 6.8 Mil on 6/10/10.)

MASTERCHEF showed growth in its hour, gaining +12% in its second half hour over its first in Adults 18-49 (1.9 vs. 1.7), +6% in Adults 18-34 (1.7 vs. 1.6) and +5% in Total Viewers (4.5 vs. 4.3 Mil.)

At 9p an encore HOUSE posted a 1.2/3 in Adults 18-49.
