WDRM Radiothon nets $520K

Clear Channel’s Country WDRM-FM and Local TV’s WHNT-TV (CBS) in Huntsville, AL hosted the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” radiothon/telethon for the American Red Cross’ Alabama Tornado Relief Drive on 5/6. The final total was $520,748. WDRM broadcasted a radiothon, while WHNT aired a telethon. WDRM personalities also appeared on WHNT throughout the telethon, while WHNT personalities broadcast from select locations and did reports on WDRM.


Red Cross volunteers answered the phones. The event started at 4:30 a.m. and wrapped up at 11:00 p.m. During the radiothon, WDRM continued storm coverage, while getting back to music.
