Nexstar’s WBRE-TV Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will launch “PA Live!” on September 12th. It will be the market’s first one-hour live, local newscast at 4:00 pm.

PA Live! will be co-hosted by WBRE news reporter, Monica Madeja and former WYOU-TV weather anchor, Dave Kuharchik, both Pennsylvania natives. They will interact with viewers through social media applications allowing PA Live! viewers to provide input on the market’s most relevant developments.

PA Live! will offer Northeastern Pennsylvania viewers fresh, innovative, news programming with a specialized focus on local lifestyle content including segments from experts on myriad topics of personal and community interest.  PA Live! will also promote interactivity with viewers online in real-time through PAHomepage.com and social media platforms like Facebook® and Twitter.

“Based on the feedback and demands of our Northeast Pennsylvania viewers the unique format of PA Live! is a natural fit for the market. The show is going to be unlike anything else produced in this region and will highlight WBRE’s commitment to provide our viewers with convenient, timely and topical lifestyle programming,” said WBRE VP/GM Lou Abitabilo.

RBR-TVBR observation: Can you guess what is airing on the station now at 4:00 pm? OK, that was too easy. It is Oprah, of course.
