Walkers gather some Moss with hybrid Texas deal

Here’s something you don’t see every day – a married couple in an unrated portion of Texas is buying one station and striking a time brokerage agreement for another, and the seller/landlord in both cases will be the same person. The result will be a de facto old-fashioned AM-FM combo.

The buyers are Tim and Stacey Walker, and their company is called Two Way Communications LLC. Their dealing partner is M&M Broadcasters LLC, headed by Gary L. Moss.

For starters, Two Way will be buying KBEY-FM Burnet TX, a Class A on 92.5 MHz with 1.8 kW @ 604’. The price for the station will be a heavily back-weighted $325K, with $15K plunked down as a deposit and $310K paid pursuant to a six-year promissory note.

At the same time, Two Way will strike a time brokerage agreement for KRHC-AM, a Class C on 1340 kHz with 1 kW-U, ND. It’s also licensed to Burnet. TBAs for both stations will kick off 7/1/11.

Burnet is in central Texas, northwest of Austin and southwest of Killeen-Temple.
