Say farewell to the sport talk programming offered from CBS Sports Radio if you’re a listener to a Class B AM licensed to Kinston, N.C., serving the Greenville-New Bern market.
Instead, it’s time to wager on new success for this Dick Broadcasting station, thanks to a new partnership with DraftKings-owned VSiN.
The arrangement brings the Sports betting network to North Carolina for the first time, with a slight rebranding of WRNS-AM 960 to “Bet on the Bull 960 AM.”
Local morning program The Bryan Hanks Show is a featured offering, while The Davis Wholesale Tire Game of the Week and live Carolina Panthers play-by-play remain. Exiting the lineup are programs from the likes of Jim Rome and Zach Gelb.
“As we started to look at new content options for the station, it was impossible to ignore the impact sports betting is having as it’s legalized across the U.S.,” said Tony Denton, Eastern North Carolina Market Manager for Dick Broadcasting. “We evaluated all of the offerings, and VSiN stood out as the best option for sports betting content.”
The VSiN agreement will also see “Brent Musburger’s Action Updates” airing on Dick-owned Country WRNS-FM; Top 40 WERO-FM; and Adult Hits WQSL-FM in the Greenville-New Bern and Jacksonville, N.C., markets.
“VSiN is proud to be the engine behind North Carolina’s first-ever sports betting radio format,” said Len Mead, General Manager at VSiN. “We’re excited to continue to expand our distribution footprint and inform and entertain sports fans in North Carolina and across the U.S.”
