Video Becomes ‘New Mobile’ in 2016

TelevisionOverall, IHS forecasts that in 2016 advertising spend will rise 5.7% to surpass $500 billion for the first time.


In 2015, advertising rose 3.1% to $497 billion compared with the prior year.

Video will account for one-quarter of display advertising, driven by tech, broadcasters and print publishers, according to the forecast. HIS includes videos on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter as mobile, and predicts these categories especially will grow in the New Year.

Global television advertising rose 1.7% to $191B in 2015, says HIS, but in the U.S. TV advertising dropped 1.4%; we’ve reported most sources cite low political ad rates and a non-Olympic year for the drop.
