Viacom to debut Paramount Channel in Spain

ViacomViacom International Media Networks is partnering with Spanish media company Vocento to launch the new Paramount Channel on DTT in Spain on 3/30. The channel will deliver Spanish audiences movies from the 100-year-old film library of Paramount Pictures, selection from Sony and Miramax and the best of Spanish cinema. More than 600 titles a year will be showcased, said Viacom. An international roll-out will follow, beginning with Western Europe.


Day-to-day programming will cover recent blockbusters, classics and award-winning films from the history of cinema. Each day, 11 movies will air, and weekends will be dedicated to family films for all audiences.

The channel will kick off with “The Godfather.” Upcoming titles include “American Beauty,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” “A.I. Artificial Intelligence,” “Fatal Attraction” and “Elizabethtown.”
