Veteran News Anchor/Commentator Takes MegaTV Turn

Many are familiar with him from his longtime role as a commentator and journalist on CNN, following a successful run at Sunbeam Television’s WSVN-7 in Miami. In June, RBR+TVBR readers learned in an InFOCUS Podcast that Rick Sanchez is today paving a new path, one that involves entrepreneur Sol Trujillo and the growing area of on-demand audio — podcasting.

He’s not limiting himself to podcasts, however, as he’s been tapped to host a new Spanish-language program focused on “the turns of life” for Spanish Broadcasting System.

Sanchez will serve as host for MegaTV’s “Las Vueltas de la Vida,” perhaps best-translated as As the World Turns.

The show bows on the SBS Spanish-language broadcast network, anchored by WSBS-22 in Miami. It will air Fridays in the 6pm hour, and marks Sanchez’ return to Hispanic-targeted television after a lengthy absence.

What will “La Vueltas de la Vida” focus on? SBS said in a Spanish-language news release that it is a program of interviews and reports “that invites you to live an exciting journey through real stories that move us, surprise us and, more than anything, make us think.”

Topics will range from medicine, sociology and psychology to legal matters and top topics of the day discussed by guest journalists.

Sanchez, who is a partner in Cano Health, has brought on the prevention and mental health care business as a lead sponsor for the show.

The program will also air in Puerto Rico on MegaTV-aligned WTCV-TV.
