Utah’s ‘Canyon Country’ Finds a Buyer

They were once radio stations owned by the late Ralph Carlson’s Holiday Broadcasting.


Now, an AM, an FM and an FM translator serving Moab, Utah, are being sold. The buyer is led by William Craig Knott.

His AZED 5 Communications of Grand Junction, Colo., is agreeing to purchase KCPX-AM 1490 in Spanish River, Utah, and its FM translator, K290CS at 105.9 MHz; and KCYN-FM 97.1 in Moab.

The seller is Moab Communications, led by Jana Kettering.

A $156,000 sale price has been agreed to. A 10% cash deposit has been made by the buyer.

KCPX is a 1kw Class C AM; KCYN is a Class C1 FM with 29kw.
