Urban One Prepares For Its Q1 Fiscal Report

As the morning of May 14 begins, one of the nation’s foremost media companies targeting African American consumers will unveil its Q1 2026 earnings results. For multicultural radio and television, the past five quarters have been challenging. What can investors anticipate from CEO Alfred Liggins III and CFO Peter Thompson?

The Urban One Q1 2026 results will be discussed in detail on that Thursday of Upfront Week at 10am Eastern, with key institutional investors including Zazove Associates likely listening intently to where the owner of Reach Media and Radio One, as well as the TV One and Cleo MVPD-distributed television networks is heading financially as 2026 progresses.

No analysts reporting to Yahoo! Finance track Urban One, which trades as both “UONE” and “UONEK” on the Nasdaq markets. For common shareholders, their investment has shrunk by 60% in the last 12 months, with shares in April reaching a 52-week low of $5.10; a reverse stock split was designed to stem the dip in share values.

Coming off a final quarter of 2025 in which its net revenue shrank by nearly $20 million and digital advertising dollars dipped by 7.4%, Radio pacings for Q1 2026 were down in the mid-single-digit range as potential political advertising in the second half of 2026 is already being looked at positively.

That’s all that one can glean from Urban One as of today. Yet investors may wish to prepare for another quarter of disappointment as the sales team prays election-based ad buys begin to ramp up — and include Black-targeted media in those plans.
