The company formerly known as Radio One, which in addition to its AM and FM properties owns the TV One cable and satellite network and the swanky new MGM National Harbor casino and resort in Prince George’s County, Md., had no problem getting shareholder approval for its six Board of Director nominees.
The votes came Tuesday (6/13) at Urban One’s annual shareholders meeting.
With 157,338 votes in favor, 8,959 votes withheld, and nearly 1.24 million non votes, Terry L. Jones and Brian W. McNeill were elected to serve as Class A directors. They will hold their seats until the 2018 annual stockholders meeting.
Jones is the Managing Partner of Syncom Venture Partners.
McNeill is Co-Founder & Managing General Partner at Alta Communications and a Principal at Alta Equity Partners LLC.
Elected to serve as Class B directors through the 2018 annual stockholders meeting are Cathy Hughes, Alfred Liggins III, D. Geoffrey Armstrong, and Ronald E. Blaylock.
For each of the Class B directors, some 28.7 million votes were cast in favor of their board presence.
