Univision Radio launches “Mami 92.7” in NYC

UnivisionThe new WQBU FM, Mami 92.7 FM features the greatest tropical hits of all time, competing with SBS’s WSKQ-FM in that market. Mami 92.7 FM airs music by El Gran Combo, Juan Luis Guerra, Hector Lavoe, Wilfrido Vargas, Frank Reyes, Frankie Ruiz, Zacarias Ferreira, Johnny Ventura, and more.


This was the frequency of New Rock legend WLIR-FM Garden City/Hempstead.

Mami 92.7 FM will feature two of the most iconic radio personalities in New York. Alipio “Coco” Cabrera and Federico Martinez, also known as “El Pachá,” who will deliver the best tropical music and high energy entertainment in New York radio. Coco and El Pacha will begin their daily shows on Monday, December 3.

In addition to tuning into 92.7 FM, listeners can tune in online at Mami927.com as well as stream Mami via the Univision Radio mobile app. The Regional Mexican formatted station previously heard on this frequency, “La Que Buena” (The Good One), will now be available on the Univision Radio app, as well as LaQueBuenaNewYork.com

  1. Jus wanted to say, I LOVE this station. Its so refreshing to have a station where i can listen to great salsa. Every radio in my house, car and job are all tuned in.

  2. I am infuriated by this change because mexican regional music also needs a place in the latin radio stations in New York. There are already many options for the people that listen to tropical music.
