Univision hosts candidates ahead of Florida primary

Hispanic media giant Univision will be conducting one-on-one conversations with the three Republican candidates who are contesting the Florida primary, in conjunction with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The events will take place Wednesday 1/25/12, will be streamed, and highlights will be broadcast on Univision News outlets.


Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum will speak one-at-a-time with Univision journalist Jorge Ramos. The Gingrich session is on tap for 9AM, Santorum for 1PM and Romney for 2:30PM.

Ron Paul is also a candidate but is not campaigning in Florida.

According to Univision, Ramos will discuss a variety of issues: “…from jobs and the economy to education, health care, immigration and international issues. Univision News extended an invitation to every GOP presidential candidate. Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum have confirmed participation. The audience will be comprised of Hispanic business leaders and members of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, as well as members of the Miami Dade College community.”

Highlights of the talks will also be shown on the network’s Sunday public affairs program Al Punto” on Sunday, 1/29/12 at 10AM.
