Univision Holdings, the nation’s biggest Hispanic-focused multimedia company, has emerged as the successful bidder for bankrupt digital media publisher Gawker Media.
A Univision spokesperson tells RBR + TVBR that the company has completed the bid process and anticipates the court’s finalization of the order tomorrow (August 18).
Gawker Media Group owner Nick Denton confirmed the $135 million deal had been finalized in a statement appearing at online media platform Recode. Univision beat out Ziff Davis’ $90 million offer for Gawker.
