The FCC Enforcement Bureau’s Region One Regional Director has issued a pair of warning letters to property owners, alerting them to the presence of unlicensed radio stations that they could be held liable for, lest they silence them immediately.

Dave Dombrowski sent on Monday (1/13) a Notice of Illegal Pirate Radio Broadcasting to Blue Hill Avenue Realty Trust for an unlicensed operation heard on July 29 and September 11, 2024 not on an FM signal but at 1620 kHz. This was in a section of Boston.

The second “NIPRB” was handed to Leison A. Guzman-Baez and Rosnery Perez as they are the owners of a structure on Pogany Street in Norwalk, Conn., found to be the origin point for an illegal FM at 87.9 MHz. Transmissions were detected by FCC Enforcement Bureau agents on February 27, 2024.

In each instance, public records linked the source of the transmissions to the building owner, which has 10 business days from the date of the notice to respond to the Commission.
