It’s a Class B AM radio station with a 5kw daytime signal from 1 tower and a 1kw nighttime signal from 3 towers serving Amarillo, Tex., with farm and agriculture-focused programming. Pending FCC approval, it will be in the hands of a new owner, thanks to a sale agreement signed off by the General Counsel of Cumulus Media.
KPUR-AM 1440 in Amarillo is being spun by the company that sees Richard Denning handle its legal affairs.
The buyer is E.L.B. Broadcasting, and it is paying a mere $1,000 for the facility.
All of the funds have been placed in escrow and are being held by John C. Trent of Putbrese, Hunsacker & Trent.
E.L.B. is based in Dimmitt, Tex., and is led by Nancy Whelan. There, the company owns and operates KDHN-AM 1470, serving a region due southwest of Amarillo with a “New Country” presentation as “The Twister.”
