Twenty-Three Senators Seek FCC Deregulation of Broadcast Media

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kansas) and 22 colleagues in the upper body of Congress have signed a letter sent to the FCC this week encouraging the Commissioners to update the broadcast ownership rules.


“By modernizing broadcast ownership restrictions, the FCC can empower broadcasters to fulfill their essential role in American democracy, foster local journalism and benefit local communities and the public interest,” they write.
